STUDENTS INFORMATION
The Dean of Students, who serves as a bridge between the University and the students democratically elected government, the Moshi University College of Co-operative and Business Studies Students Organization (MUCSO), oversees the student’s welfare. Through MUCSO, the Dean helps the administration to ensure high standard of students well being during their stay at the University College in the following areas.
1.3.1 Residence
The University College provides accommodation to limited number of students, both male and female, who wish to reside on campus. Since in campus accommodation is limited, students are encouraged to stay off campus. When necessary, the office of the Dean of Students shall assist in securing such accommodation.
1.3.2 Postal and Banking Services
There is a letter box at the main entrance where letters can be posted. Collection is done daily. Letters can also be deposited at the main reception before 10:00 o’clock on working days, where the postal clerk delivers the same to the post office. With regard to banking services there is 24 hours ATM services on campus and other services are located in town within a walking distance.
1.3.3 Medical Services
All emergency medical cases are attended at the University College dispensary which is headed by the Competent Medical practioners. Cases requiring specialist attention are referred to Mawenzi, a regional hospital or to Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC), a nearby national referral hospital.
1.3.4 Catering Services
A team of professional staff renders catering services, cafeteria style, at a very reasonable fee. The service is rendered in a modern kitchen and dining hall with a sitting capacity of 300 people at a time.
1.3.5 Religious Services
Students and staff have complete freedom of worship, with essential limits that the enjoyment of this freedom should not, in any way, prevent other members in the community from enjoying their own freedom.
