MUCASA
MUCASA is an academic staff and program officers association of the Moshi University College. The association is also a part of the National academic association and other academic association worldwide.
OBJECTS AND FUNCTIONS
The objects and functions of the association are:
1.To provide organizational means for the academic staff to come together as an academic body in order to advance and protect the image and interests of its members;
2.To initiate, stimulate and promote academic activities through meaningful discussion among staff of the University College on matters of academic interest and also for the attainment for academic excellence;
3.To seek representation of the academic staff in all organ or bodies within the University College or elsewhere in which the affairs of the members are dealt with;
4.To publicize its activities through the mass media, exhibitions and other forums;
5.To seek action to be taken by the relevant authority within and/ or beyond the University College on matters relating to the general welfare of the academic staff;
6.To remind the members due dates of election of leadership and scrutinize the applicants’ forms in order to provide a recommendable opinion to the relevant authorities responsible for nominations of academic leaders: directors, deans of faculties, bureaux, head of institutes, departments, academic units, regarding conduct and behaviour of the prospective candidates;
7.To initiate links or networks with representative bodies and other institutions and professions;
8.To identify, undertake and promote academic activities for the benefit of members;
MEMBERSHIP
Membership of the association comprises;-
Ordinary members: any person in the service of the University College in the capacity of an academic staff shall be an ordinary memberAssociate members: part - time, occasional, contracted or visiting lecturers shall be eligible to become associate member.Honorary members: any person (nominated by the executive council) who has worked closed with the association or whose membership is likely to be beneficial to the association or the University College. |
